Ultimate Healthiest & Tastiest Protein Bar
If you are anything like me and read labels to avoid overly sugary & salty protein bars then this protein bar recipe is for you. Granola bars are high in either salt content or sugar content as well as fat and calories. The Protein bars they sell at supplement stores have either high sodium or sugar.
I needed to come up with a Protein bar that had little to none sugar and little to none sodium. With that being said I needed to make sure it tasted SOOO GOOD!
So I cracked the perfect recipe,
You will love this recipe not only is it great for your workout days. But this high protein bar is great in the morning to boost your day full of nutrients.
Warning: Do not leave bars left unattended… Anyone or everyone who lays eyes on them will eat them. I say this from experience, My parents, friends, co-workers they all crave for more and are shocked that I do not add sugar or salt into these bars.
Okay lets get down to business and Grab the ingredients needed for the recipe and try it for your self. I guarantee you will be making these weekly.
- 2 cups of Oats ( old fashioned )
- 3 scoops of chocolate protein whey powder
- 2 Tb peanut butter ( you can use natural )
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup Unsweetened almond milk
- handful cranberries cut into small pieces
- handful shredded coconut
- optional : add almonds sliced thinly into pieces
Step 1 : Grab a BIG Bowl
- Add 2 cups of OATS to the bowl
- Add 3 scoops of Whey protein chocolate
- Add cranberries
- Add Shredded coconut
- Add almonds
Give this a mix ! Mix it well ! Are you done? Okay great ! high five .. the dry ingredients are done now lets move on to the wet ingredients.
Step 2 : Grab a pan
- Grab a pan and place it on medium high heat
- Add 2-3 TB of peanut butter
- Add ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk
- Add vanilla extract
- Optional : Add handful shredded coconut for more richness
Now it will start to melt, KEEP MIXING IT. Once it is all mixed together. Shut off the heat and take it off the heat.
Next I want you to pour the Wet ingredients into your Dry ingredients Bowl. COMBINE IT TOGETHER : )
Step 3 : Mix this well with a spatula, you want to make sure you mix in a scooping motion.
Once everything is mixed well there is only one Final Step…..
Step 4 : Grab a baking pan Tray, Put some wax paper into the tray. The wax paper will prevent it from sticking. ( Trust me this helps ! ) This helps avoid the use of oil or butter.
Spread the mixture into the Pan evenly.
(OPTIONAL) Step 5 :Top the protein bars with shredded coconut for that presentation yummy look to it.
Cover it with saran wrap and place it in the refrigerated for up to 3-4 hours.
