One Place in the home that is very important to me to clean naturally is the kitchen. This is the area where you prepare food for your entire family to eat and personally, I don’t like the idea of cleaning with harsh chemicals where I cook! I instead have implemented natural techniques that still get the job done. Check them out and let me know what you think!
Before we begin I am going to list the ingredients that you will need to get every part of your kitchen clean!
–Vinegar: Great Disinfectant and Deodorizes
–Lemon: Antibacterial and Deodorizes
–Baking Soda: Slightly abrasive, reacts with Vinegar, Deodorizes
–Mild dish soap
–Essential Oil lemon/grapefruit
- Clean that Microwave
One Smart Way to Clean Your microwave quicker and more efficiently is to cut a lemon in half and drop in a bowl of water (1 CUP) then place in the microwave for three minutes! This will clean the microwave of any food odors and make the grease easier to wipe off.
- Deodorize the Garbage Disposal
A trick to cleaning the garbage disposal and getting rid of that food odor is to make ice cubes which contain ½ water and ½ vinegar. Then place a couple ice cubes in the garbage disposal and turn it on to grind up the ice. That’s all it takes and your done!
- Shine Up the Oven
One of the best known ways to clean an oven naturally is by spraying down the entire oven with water then taking baking soda and putting on top of the wet surface to create a paste. Let Sit until it becomes a hardened paste and then spray with Vinegar till it foams up. After that just wipe it down and there you go a clean stove!
- Clean Those Floors
When I mop the kitchen floors I use a solution that is both natural and effective for cleaning purposes. I mix 2 Cups of warm water with 2 Cups of Vinegar and 3 drops of a natural mild dish soap and last add 10 of lemon essential oil drops that gives a great smell! However, if you don’t have this available cutting a large lemon in half and putting it in the solution will work as well!
- Clean Countertops
My Simple and efficient way to clean my kitchen countertops is to mix in a spray bottle 2 cups of water, 2 cups of Vinegar, and 8 drops of grapefruit essential oil! Then I just spray down the counter tops and use a good ol’ rag and wipe away!
- Clean That Refrigerator
The same solution I use for the countertops is the same solution I use in the refrigerator because I know its safe around food. I use 2 cups water, 2 cups vinegar, and 8 drops of grapefruit essential oil. Once again spay it down and wipe away!
- Clean that Kitchen Sink
One of the most effective ways to clean the kitchen sink to remove grease and dirt naturally is to rinse the sink wit water then sprinkle the sink with baking soda and use a sponge to scrub the inner sink, then spray the sink with vinegar (helps with water stains) then lightly scrub again and rinse it off clean! Last you can deodorize the sink with the back of a orange peel for smell and shine! If you want to take it an extra step further go ahead and take a paper towel with olive oil and shine the sink!
- Clean The Dish Washer
A great way to clean your dishwasher is to empty it out and then place a cup of vinegar in the top center rack and then turn it on and run a cycle with hot water. After this I would do another cycle with just baking soda with hot water. Now you will have a clean dish washer!
